About this site
When Do Schools Break Up? answers one question for every council in England and Wales: when do the schools break up?
Where the dates come from
Every date comes from the council's own term-dates page or document, found through GOV.UK's list of council term-date pages. Each council page links to its source and says when we last checked it. We don't copy dates from other websites.
Council dates apply to community and voluntary controlled schools. Academies, free schools, foundation and voluntary aided schools can set their own, and every school picks its own INSET days, so always check your school's dates too.
Where the fines figures come from
The fines figures are the Department for Education's official statistics, Parental responsibility measures.
